<trans-abstract xml:lang="en">
<title>Background</title><p>Background. Preeclampsia (PE) drives high maternal mortality in Nigeria. Region-specific risks in resource-limited Jigawa State, complicated by sparse subgroup data, demand targeted study.</p>
<title>Objective</title><p>Objective. To identify and compare risk factors among nulliparous and multiparous women in Jigawa State.</p>
<title>Materials and methods</title><p>Materials and methods. Prospective case-control study was carried out in three hospitals (n=395: 146 cases, 249 controls). Hausa questionnaires/records were used. Adjusted logistic regression (AORs, 95% CIs) was applied.</p>
<title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. Parity-specific risks highlight tailored antenatal care and community health education.</p>
</trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>материнская смертность</kwd><kwd>преэклампсия</kwd><kwd>факторы риска</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>maternal mortality</kwd><kwd>preeclampsia</kwd><kwd>risk factors</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Преэклампсия.
