Abstract

Objective. To attempt a systematic analysis of the specifics of doctor-patient interaction.

Materials and methods. An analysis of current research by Russian authors was performed.

Results. The following constitutive features distinguishing this type of communication from other forms of social interaction are identified: ontological (existential nature), axiological (value conflict and the role of trust), communicative (immanent asymmetry), normative-ethical (dual regulation), and institutional (hybridization of models in modern conditions).

Conclusion. The specifics of doctor-patient interaction are systemic in nature and cannot be reduced to the sum of individual factors. Special attention is paid to the transformation of interaction models in modern conditions, including the issue of hybridization of paternalistic, collegial, and consumerist models.
