In 1975, he graduated the Department of General Medicine of Moscow Institute of Medicine and Dentistry.

Since 1998, he is the Chief Specialist in Sports Medicine at the Moscow Healthcare Department and works at the S.I. Spasokukotsky Moscow Centre for Research and Practice in Medical Rehabilitation, Restorative and Sports Medicine.

He is the Chief Physician at all regional and international sport events in Moscow, including the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens, 2014 Winter Olympics, 2015 World Fencing Championships, 2016 IIHF World Championship.

He has over 150 scientific publications on physical activity and sports medicine in Russian and international journals. He is an author of the first Russian book on sports medicine covering football—Physiology of Football (2008).

He is awarded with the Medal of Honor of the President of the Russian Federation, the title of Honored Doctor of the Russian Federation, the certificates of honor and appreciation from the International Olympic Committee, Moscow Mayor, Minister of Health of the Russian Federation, and Head of Moscow Healthcare Department.

Research Interests: diagnostics and correction of functional disorders in sportsmen, adaptations to increased physical load due to the growing competition in high performance sport.
